Identity storage

Each plan includes a number of stored identities. An identity is one subject (one enrolled person), however many face templates or groups it has. The allowance is shared by every project in your account.

What counts

  • Every subject created with biofrq.enroll counts as one stored identity.
  • Adding another template to a subject that already exists does not create a new identity.
  • Deleting a subject frees its place immediately.

When you reach the limit

When the number of stored identities equals your allowance, biofrq.enroll for a new externalId fails with HTTP 402 and the error code IDENTITY_LIMIT_REACHED:

json
{
  "ok": false,
  "errors": [
    {
      "code": "IDENTITY_LIMIT_REACHED",
      "message": "Identity storage limit reached: 1000 of 1000 identities stored.",
      "details": { "limit": 1000, "stored": 1000 }
    }
  ]
}

A refused enrollment writes nothing and is not charged.

Nothing already stored is removed or hidden. detect, verify, identify, update, and deleteSubject keep working as usual, and you can still search every stored identity.

To enroll again, delete identities until stored is below limit, or move to a plan with a larger allowance.

If your allowance drops

If a plan change lowers your allowance below the number of identities you already have, all existing identities stay and stay searchable and deletable. Only enrolling new identities is refused, until the number stored is below the new allowance.

Where to see usage

The Subjects page in the dashboard shows identities stored against your allowance, for example 8,412 / 10,000 identities. Plans with no limit show no bar.
